Service Description:

The sidewalk condition index similar to the pavement condition index and is a numerical index with a range from 0 and 8, which is used to indicate the general condition of the sidewalk section. This dataset and measure requires manual survey of the sidewalk. The City of Salisbury's implementation of this condition index is designed to provide a coarse aggregation of quality based on physical characteristics on site. Some of the programs that aid in the creation of new and improved sidewalks include the national Safer Routes to School (SRTS) and the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program.
