Description: Design and Construction of a safe, paved shared-use path through the City has long been a goal of the City and Walking/Biking advocates in the area. A Rail-with-Trail is under development in the City of Salisbury. While planning began in 2016, final design and construction remains a multi-year, multi-phase effort. Currently design is funded for Phase One, the southernmost portion, via a grant from the Bikeways Program of Maryland Department of Transportation. Unlike most of our bike facilities, the Rail Trail will be multi-modal, meaning it is also designed to accommodate people on foot.
